The Consultation Workshop on the Development of the "Negative list" under the new Enterprise Law has been organized on 26 December 2006 at Lao Plaza Hotel, Vientiane Municipality. The workshop is joinly organized by Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC), SME Promotion and Development Office (SMEPDO), International Finance Corporation-Mekong Private Sector Development Faculty Office (IFC-MPDF) and Economic Research Institution for Trade. The specific objectives are:

• To improved understanding amongst sectors both private and government about the new Enterprise Law;
• To consultation on standards and conditions fo enterprise that will include within the "Negative List" and
• To consultation on methodologies and mechanism for cooperation on the development of the "Negative List".
