There are different types of business sectors each of which has its own characteristics, potential and competitiveness, etc. Ministry of Industry and Handicraft in collaboration with UNIDO has studied on key business sectors and sub-sectors in Lao PDR. Available information on individual sectors and sub-sectors especially recommended development strategies are very useful information.

Specific business sectors

The LNCCI categorized 17 business groups/associations according to the sectors the members are operating in. The Center for Industrial Research and Development, under the umbrella of MoIH, supported by UNIDO conducted studies of five sectors and two sub-sectors especially their characteristics, strengths, weaknesses and development potential.
